I started working with SMS in February 2024, taking on not just one, but three separate sites across the business. It was a careful balancing act — deciding where to focus SEO efforts first, while aligning with the client’s growth goals and internal priorities.

Technical and on-page SEO foundations

We began with a deep audit of their main website, fixing outdated meta titles, descriptions, and site structure to meet current SEO best practices.

Evergreen content strategy

I created informative blog content addressing key industry topics — from types of heating systems to choosing the right air conditioning. These posts weren’t just educational; they were discoverable, SEO-rich, and designed to drive long-term traffic.

Local SEO optimisation

I built out service area pages targeting nearby towns, helping SMS show up in more local searches and attract high-intent visitors.

The Problem: A strong business with a silent website

Southern Maintenance Solutions (SMS), a trusted HVAC specialist in Tadley, had been growing steadily through word of mouth — but their online presence didn’t reflect the quality of their work. Their website had been neglected, their social media was dormant, and they weren’t appearing in local searches.

They knew it was time to change. With plans to expand their business — including the launch of a new consumer-focused brand, SMS@Home — they needed a digital strategy that would get them seen by the right people in the right places.
